The story of Zio began with our passion for truly beautiful shoes. We wanted to bring more joy to Finns' steps and change our shoe culture. If shoes don't make you smile, why buy them?
We opened our first Zio brick-and-mortar store in Helsinki's Fredrikinkatu in 2001. We started with one shoe brand, and now 20 years later, our selection includes shoes and accessories from more than ten first-class European brands.
Our passion is shown by the fact that we fit every shoe model ourselves before adding it to our selection. We sell shoes that we ourselves fall in love with and would wear ourselves. In our selection, we rely on sustainable design, personal style and comfort. We have been the first retailer of many brands in Finland. Such brands include, for example, Woden, Wonders, Camper, Shoes Like Candy .
Designed and manufactured in Europe, our aesthetic, fun and high-quality shoes carry a story. The story continues in the feet of our customers. Your favorite shoes bring joyful self-confidence to every step!
Responsibility is actions
It is important for us to know who makes our shoes. We know every designer and have visited every factory. We get our shoes directly from the manufacturers without intermediaries.
Our work at Zio is guided by a constant interest in ecological and ethical materials. Our brand Shoes Like Candy is completely handcrafted from start to finish in Spain.
Our selection also includes footwear that can be washed in the washing machine. We sell padded laundry bags in which sneakers and the drum of the washing machine are not damaged. We have given up plastic bags and laminated paper bags in our stores. We use FCS-certified packaging materials that promote responsible forest management.
A forerunner for the next 20 years as well
Zio is a completely Finnish company, but we have always had international staff interested in fashion. We hope that every customer feels that it is pleasant to enter our door.
